Punta Carretas is a district ( barrio ) of the Uruguayan capital Montevideo .

Location and geography

Punta Carretas, located on the two important Montevidean traffic arteries Rambla and Bulevar Artigas , forms the southernmost part of the city, which protrudes as a headland into the Río de la Plata . To the north it borders the Parque Rodó and Pocitos districts . The area of ​​Punta Carretas is assigned to the municipality CH .
