The Edificio Panamericano is a building in the Uruguayan capital, Montevideo .

It is located at the highest point of the Barrios Buceo near the Rambla Armenia and opposite the port of Buceo on Avenida Luis A. De Herrera 1042 . The architect of the residential complex planned for the end of the 1950s and built from 1960 to 1964 (other sources cite the years 1959 to 1962) was Raúl Secureo Bouret . The construction was carried out by the company Rambla Horizontal SA At a height of 50 meters, a length of 195 meters and a width of 13 meters, 17 above-ground floors are housed in the Edificio Panamericano. The building, the originally expected construction costs of 22 million pesos, takes up an area of around 1700 m², while the total usable area of the 374 apartments housed there is almost three hectares (27,000 m²). The building complex also includes a garage with a capacity of 300 cars. Contrary to the original plan, which was based on ten blocks, only half of it was ultimately built.

The Edificio Panamericano was declared an urban cultural asset (" Bien de Interés Municipal ") in 2005 by the Junta Departamental de Montevideo by decree of 1995 .
