Raúl Safe , full name Raúl A. Safe Bouret , (born May 2, 1916 in Rivera , † November 19, 2014 ) was a Uruguayan architect .

Life

Safo began working as a draftsman in the studio of the architect Horacio Terra Aracena in 1936. In the same year he also took up his studies, which he graduated in 1942 from the Faculty of Architecture (Facultad de Arquitectura) of the Universidad de la República .

In the following years he won several architecture competitions and received smaller awards by the middle of the century. Of what he highly appreciated several of his from the 1950s converted into action projects, the influences Le Corbusier or from Julio Vilamajó and Frank Lloyd Wright exhibit, now dominate the appearance of the Rambla in montevideanischen Barrio Pocitos . In 1951 ,ichero was responsible for the Edificio La Goleta and in 1958 for the Edificio Panamericano . In the same year, the Edificio Ciudadela , located on Plaza Independencia in Ciudad Vieja , was built . The Edificio Champs Elysées from 1983 is also one of his projects. He was also active outside of Montevideo . Several houses were built according to his plans in Punta del Este .

At the Quinto Congreso Panamericano de Arquitectura in 1940 he was awarded a silver medal and an honorary diploma for his work.
