Gumprechtsdorf (desert)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gumprechtsdorf is a deserted area in the district of Bad Klosterlausnitz in the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia .

location

The desert lies west of Bad Klosterlausnitz

history

In 1952/53 the desert south of the city was scientifically examined. 13 loosely distributed stone mounds were found on both sides of a stream. A silted pond lay in the middle of the stone mound. Traces of a ravine were found east of the deserted village . On the land survey map from 1810, a hill was referred to as the Old Church . The hills were the remains of the houses of a village founded around 1200, which in 1255 had been described as desolate, which seems implausible.
