Belt deck

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The belt deck is a ship deck on a ship.

details

According to the definition of the authorities and the classification societies, the belt deck is the uppermost full-length deck of a ship in which the strength associations of the ship's hull are located. In the case of full deck ships , it is usually also the main deck . However, if, as is usual with numerous special ships, one or more decks running over the entire length are arranged above the main deck, the strength associations of which are more important, then the main deck and belt deck differ from one another.
