Gustav Ebert

Gustav Ebert (born July 14, 1886 in Hanover , † June 7, 1968 in Minden ) was a German politician ( SPD ). From 1947 to 1950 he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Life

Ebert attended elementary school and then completed an apprenticeship as a glassmaker. In 1909 he stayed in Holland for a while until he returned to Germany to work as a government and trade union clerk. From January 1927 to 1933 he was managing director of the association of factory workers in the Minden district. Until 1933 he was a member of the higher arbitration tribunal of the glass industry for legal disputes; the import and export committee appointed by the then Reich Economic Council; of the advisory board in the glass workers' association and assessor in social security and labor courts.

Ebert joined the SPD in 1909 and carried out his trade union and political activities from 1909 to 1933. During the time of National Socialism he was not politically active, only after the end of the World War he was active as a city councilor in Minden from 1945 to 1946. He also became managing director of the public services, transport and traffic union in Minden. In 1947 he was elected to the first state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia. By winning the direct mandate in constituency 146 Minden-Süd, he belonged to the state parliament from April 20, 1947 to June 17, 1950.
