The Gustav Gerster GmbH & Co. KG is a family enterprise with headquarters in Biberach and produced curtain fabrics, ready-made curtains, curtain tapes, trimmings and technical textiles .
history
Initially founded in 1882 as a small trimmings company, the company developed over time into the largest trimmings factory in Germany.
In the 1950s, Gerster began producing curtain tapes. Today 40 million meters of these are manufactured each year. Curtain production was started in the 1980s. Since then, the range of products on offer has been geared towards covering all window decoration needs with woven, printed and embroidered curtain fabrics, prefabricated curtains, curtain tapes as well as trimmings and tiebacks.
In 2004 it was decided to set up the Gerster TechTex division with a focus on technical narrow textiles. The active area of application here is the composite market with reinforcement textiles and auxiliary materials.
250 employees in the headquarters in Germany and in the subsidiary in Poland (since 1995) produce high-quality articles in the in-house production departments, including wide and ribbon weaving, embroidery and tassel production.
In 2009 Gerster took first place in the BTH Heimtex / BBE customer barometer decoration and curtains in two categories (future prospects and delivery speed) and landed in another ten categories, including product quality , price-performance ratio , conditions , goodwill and complaint processing , sales policy and Progressiveness, in second place.

Charitable
225 years ago, a Schützenbatzen was given out to school children in Biberach for the first time by the Heiss Foundation. This beautiful tradition of bringing joy to schoolchildren has been continued by the Gerster company over several generations to this day.
The importance, origin and handover at the school are enhanced by the greeting card in the form of a breviary that has been added since last year and form a nice introduction to the Biberach shooting festival at the schools. In addition to the Schützenbatzen, the Gerster company also supports the Biberacher Schützenfest with donations and company products for costume, pageant and theater equipment.
