Gustav Einar Hanson (born August 8, 1934 in Honesdale ) is a former American biathlete .
Gustav Hanson took part in the first ever Olympic biathlon race at the 1960 Olympic Games in Squaw Valley . With nine shooting errors and the resulting 18 penalty minutes, the American was mediocre in this area, but with a running time of one hour and 40: 06.2 minutes had the third worst running time after the two Britons John Moore and Norman Shutt and was in the overall standings as the second worst American directly in front of his compatriot Larry Damon 23rd of the 30 starters.
