Gustavo E. Campa
Gustavo E (milio) Campa (born September 8, 1863 in Mexico City , † October 29, 1934 ibid) was a Mexican composer.
Campa was a student of Julio Ituarte , Felipe Larios and Melisio Morales . He founded the Instituto de Música , which he directed together with Felipe Villanueva and Ricardo Castro Herrera . From 1907 to 1913 he was director, then until 1925 professor of composition at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música .
He composed, among other things, the opera El rey poeta (1901), the symphonic pieces Berceuse and Lamento and the Marcha antigua . He also wrote articles and music reviews.
