Gusu
Gusu ( Chinese 姑苏 区 , Pinyin Gūsū Qū ) is a municipality in the southern Chinese city of Suzhou in Jiangsu Province . It was created on August 10, 2012 by the union of the then Canglang , Pingjiang and Jinchang Districts . Gusu has an area of 84 km² and around 754,800 inhabitants (registered residences, end of 2011). Gusu encompasses the entire city center of Suzhou, including the famous Old Town ( Venice of the East ). The Suzhou City Government is based in Gusu.
Administrative structure
At the community level, Gusu consists of 18 street districts and three large communities . These are:

For a transitional period, until the three former districts have grown together, the government of the new district set up four “administrative committees” (,) to which the street districts and large municipalities are subordinate. They are: "New Town Lancang" (沧浪 新城 管委会), "New Town Pingjiang" (平 江 新城 管委会), "New Town Jinchang" (金阊 新城 管委会) and "Commercial and Business District Nanmen" (南门 商贸 区 管委会).
