Chapel in Seedorf

The Gutskapelle Seedorf is a Protestant church in Seedorf (Saxony-Anhalt).

history

The previous church from the 13th century was demolished in 1826 due to dilapidation. The new building was inaugurated in 1868. It was built from bricks in the neo-Gothic style. The nave has a steep gable roof, and an octagonal tower with a brick top is added to the west. The interior of the church has a barrel-vaulted ceiling. The inventory created by Oberammergau woodcarvers in 1926 has been lost. During the GDR era, the church gradually fell into disrepair. In the 1990s it was made usable again. The west gallery was restored, a new pulpit created and benches made available from the Magdeburgerforth village church .
