The village church Magdeburgerforth is the Protestant church of about Möckern belonging village Magdeburgerforth .

architecture

The church was built in 1901 in neo -Gothic style and was consecrated that year as well. The brick building is on the outskirts of the village, right next to the forest, which gave the building the name Waldkirche . The choir stands on a rectangular floor plan across the nave. The sacristy is added on the south side . To the northwest of the ship is the church tower, which is square in plan. It has eight sound openings in the form of pointed arches and is crowned by a gable roof and a lantern . On the north side of the tower there is a small polygonal tower with a round pointed roof , which serves as a stairway to the organ . The tower facade is adorned with diamond patterns made of green-glazed bricks at the height of the roof ridge of the nave .

Inside the church there is a gallery on the west side , the windows are designed as two-part tracery windows, in each of the arches there is a large oculus . Above the church hall there is an open boarded, ornamental roof truss resting on consoles, while the choir is spanned by a ridge vault. The Altarmensa is made of molded stones. The furnishings of the church are from the time it was built; the eight-part organ was made by the organ builder, Shell, Neuhaldensleben, the oak pulpit was made by Gustav Kuntzsch from Wernigerode .
