The Gutsverwaltung Hardegg is one of the largest farms in Austria .

The Hardegg estate management can look back on over 500 years of family tradition. Viticulture has been practiced on the estate since the late Middle Ages. The courtyard cellar with its labyrinthine vaults dates from 1640. The now partially devastated dairy farms Karlhof, Maxhof, Alicenhof , Kadolzer Hof, Parkhof, Oberhof and Kammersdorfer Hof were under the estate administration .

The company, now managed by Maximilian Hardegg , with a total area of ​​around 2600 hectares and over 40 employees, is active in the fields of grain growing, potatoes, pig breeding, viticulture and forestry and, as one of the largest agricultural operations, receives around one million euros in agricultural subsidies every year. Around 20,000 piglets are raised annually with a thousand sows and 200,000 bottles of wine are produced annually on the 35 hectare, controlled organic-biological vineyards. Since 2009 the company has also been a McDonald’s flagship farm .
