Guy Georges

Guy Georges (born October 15, 1962 in Vitry-le-François ) is a French serial killer who tortured, raped and then killed at least seven young women in their homes between 1991 and 1997. Since the murders happened near the Bastille , he was known as "La bête de la Bastille" ( The Bastille Beast ).

After the largest manhunt in French criminal history, he was arrested on March 27, 1998 in Montmartre and found on the basis of DNA traces of the murders. On April 5, 2001, he was sentenced to life imprisonment. He is also suspected of having committed three other murders.
