Gypjak (or Kipchak , Russian Кипчак Kipchak ) is a small village 10 km from the Turkmen capital Ashgabat in Ahal welaýaty . The village is famous as the birthplace of the first President of Turkmenistan, Saparmyrat Nyýazow . Nyýazow built a mosque and a mausoleum there, where he was buried next to his brothers and parents on December 24, 2006.

The name is derived from the Turkish people of the Kyptschaks .
