Vertical stroke

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As runout (shortened to: stroke ) refers to the deformation of a wheel into an oval. In the case of bicycles in particular , this often shows up in the form of a bent, warped rim . In extreme cases, the wheel rubs against the fender in places. If the problem cannot be solved by centering (adjusting the spokes), the only thing that will help is usually to replace the wheel.

Similar to the vertical runout, there is also a side runout , i.e. a lateral deformation of the wheel.
