The higher technical federal teaching and research institute Graz-Gösting (HTBL and VA BULME ) is located in Graz - Gösting and is the second largest higher technical teaching institute in Austria with approx. 2,600 students . The designation BULME is an acronym and stands for Federal Institute for Mechanical and Electrical Engineering .

The lessons at the Bulme are divided into theoretical and practical lessons. Up to nine hours per week are taught in the workshop or laboratory. After graduating from high school and three years of professional experience, you can apply for the engineering title (as with all HTL in Austria).

Departments

Day school, day school, evening school and evening course for working people are offered. Each of these forms has the four departments of industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics and electrical engineering. Exceptions are the day course and the evening course (no electronics department).

Electronics and technical informatics

With the new curriculum, the Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering offers training in this area. The following specializations are offered from the 4th year:

Dislocations

The HTL-Bulme has several deployments / branch offices. The branch in Deutschlandsberg with a day school for industrial engineering and evening school for electrical engineering and mechanical engineering, as well as the branch in Bad Radkersburg with a day school for electrical engineering and Voitsberg with a day school for mechanical engineering. These branch offices are managed centrally in Bulme-Graz but each have their own day and Evening student council.

Expansion and renovation

In July 2016 it was announced that the HTBL u. VA BULME in Graz - Gösting is to be expanded by the federal real estate company for 20.5 million euros. The existing workshop building is to be demolished and replaced by a new 7,200 building, the 16,500 school building is to be enlarged by 1,200 .
