Friedrich Ernst Alwin Münchmeyer (born December 3, 1844 in Werl ; † August 6, 1895 in Hamburg ) was a businessman and co-owner of the company " Münchmeyer & Co. ".

Münchmeyer came from an old family in Lower Saxony and was the son of the Hamburg merchant and banker Hermann Münchmeyer the Elder. Ä. (1815-1909) and the Emma Flashoff (1821-1905).

He married Therese Albert on September 18, 1872 (born November 26, 1852 in Rio de Janeiro; † March 6, 1932 in Hamburg), the daughter of the Hamburg merchant Rudolf Albert (1815–1880), previously a merchant in Rio de Janeiro, and of Luise von Dehn born Braun (1831-1916).

His son was Hermann Münchmeyer the Elder. J. (1875–1950), businessman and co-owner of the company " Münchmeyer & Co. ".

In order to differentiate him from his grandson Alwin Münchmeyer , the name Alwin Münchmeyer the Elder has become naturalized.

Life

Münchmeyer had been co-owner of his father's company " Münchmeyer & Co. " in Hamburg since 1869 and a member of the Chamber of Commerce since 1885 .

Alwin Münchmeyer was buried in the area of ​​the circular family grave complex on the Ohlsdorf cemetery ( grid square AA 19 between Waldstraße and Stiller Weg ).
