Hörsteloe is a farming community that belongs to Ahaus, 10 km away, in the Borken district in North Rhine-Westphalia . It lies between Alstätte and Ottenstein . Until 1960 it belonged to the municipality of Ammeloe .

In Hörsteloe there is the 8.70 hectare nature reserve Wacholderheide Hörsteloe (identification BOR-030).
