Höversbygrotte, the entrance to the inner chamber is only possible by crawling

The Höversbygrotte is a cave formation in the municipality of Linköping . The cave is located near Höversby in the parish village of Örtomta , 22 km east of Linköping. The grotto, which is located in a heavily cracked mountain top , is an underground cave consisting of cavities under and between blocks and cracks in the rock.

The Höversby grotto is almost 50 meters long and extends over two floors. A narrow main entrance that slopes downwards and a spacious, sloping room leads to a cave chamber with full standing height.

At the end of the chamber, a low corridor, which can only be overcome several meters in a crawl, leads to another chamber with a low ceiling height. From this chamber a path leads to two cave mouths that are considerably narrower than the main entrance.
