Hōtoku Ninomiya Shrine

Hōtoku-Ninomiya-Shrine ( Japanese 報 徳 二 宮 神社 , Hōtoku-Ninomiya-jinja ) is a Shintō shrine which is located in the Japanese city ​​of Odawara in Kanagawa Prefecture . The shrine was built in honor of Ninomiya Sontoku .

Other such shrines of the same name are in Nikkō and Sagamihara .

history

Ninomiya Sontoku was born in Kayama ( 栢山 ) in Odawara. The shrine was dedicated to him in April 1894 ( Meiji 27) by the Hōtoku-sha Association for the outstanding work he has done in the field of agriculture and for the moral and ethical principles he has taught .
