The H. Heydt GmbH & Co. KG is a family owned company of the spirits industry in Haselünne in Lower Saxony Emsland .

history

The company was in 1860 by Heinrich Heydt (1823-1896) as a distillery and yeast factory established and changed its name in 1893 as a general partnership . After the founder's death in 1896, his sons Lambert, Franz and Reinhard Heydt took over the distillery. Your successor Hubert Heydt sen. In the 1920s, the company added its own delivery of motor vehicles. Heydt products already received numerous awards during this period.

Hubert Heydt jun. introduced automation during construction after World War II and bought the trademark rights to some spirits products. The Heydt grain distillery has so far been awarded the “Prize of the Best” a total of 15 times by the German Agricultural Society .

Products and brands

Heydt produces grain , vodka , liqueurs and fruit brandies. The Heydt brand includes the well-known herbal liqueur HKT (hearty herb drops ) , mixed drinks with fruit and wheat grain ( Heydt Hofernte ) and various party drinks based on vodka ( Heydt Power ).

Through acquisitions and takeovers, Heydt also owns the brands Wippermann ( juniper schnapps , since 2000), Ammerländer (e.g. Ammerländer spoon drink ), Bauer Edelbrände , Alter Kurfürst and Hullmann ( Korn , since 2004). Heydt is also the parent company of the spirits producer HC König mit Schinkenhäger (formerly Steinhäger ).

The products are mainly marketed regionally in northern and eastern Germany. Heydt is successful with fruit liqueurs in Japan and also exports to Canada. Exact sales and business figures are not published by the company.

In 2016, the private H. Heydt grain distillery founded the Heydt-Manufaktur label , under which it offers various specialties (stored grain).
