There a total of 20 house distilleries developed there in the second half of the 19th century , producing juniper water and juniper oil. In the 21st century, two distilleries still produce Steinhäger there: the Schwarze-Schlichte company in the former H. C. König distillery and the Zum Fürstenhof Robert H. Günther distillery , which has been a subsidiary of the Kisker company from Hall since 1955 . In all larger German cities, including Berlin , there were sales companies for the aromatic spirit, which was named "Steinhäger-Urquell" in an advertisement and advertised as the "best Steinhäger in the world".
