The HC Midtjylland is a syndicate from the Danish region of Midtjylland . The first men's team played several seasons in the Håndboldligaen , the top division in the Danish league system.

history

The syndicate was founded in 2005 by the clubs Hauge GIF and Herning fH and started in the fourth class 3rd division. In 2007 the HC rose to the 1st division and took part in the relegation to the Håndboldligaen a year later. In 2010, the promotion to the highest national league was achieved for the first time, from which one had to relegate immediately. After two seasons in midfield in the 1st division, HC won the championship in 2014 and was promoted to the Håndboldligaen again. There they finished sixth and qualified for the first time for the finals of the Danish championship, which the syndicate, however, finished last in the group.

In 2013/14 HC Midtjylland reached the Final Four of the Danish Cup as the second division ( Landspokalturnering ). Against the later title winner KIF Kolding-Copenhagen , who also won the Danish championship this season, they lost in the semi-finals with 20:29. In 2015 the club became Danish Cup winners.

In 2018 HC Midtjylland filed for bankruptcy and was relegated to the 2nd division. A year later, HC Midtjylland rose to the 1st division.
