The SG Chênois & Servette is a handball syndicate from Geneva . She benefited from the team withdrawal of SG Zentralschweiz , which could no longer raise the financial means to play in the Swiss Handball League , the top division. Since the BSV Stans, to which the SHL license went back, waived this place, the association had to decide who will play in the SHL in the 2006/07 season. Since there is no clear regulation in this case that, for example, the National League B champions would inherit this place, the central board and the presidential conference of the SHL clubs had to decide on the award of this license. The presidential conference of the SHL decided with six to one votes in favor of SG Chênois & Servette. This represents a unique opportunity to play handball in French-speaking Switzerlandto establish. Since there are no relegated teams in the 06/07 season due to the league expansion to the coming season from eight to twelve teams, the ambitious club from Geneva, which was promoted to the 1st league (3rd highest division) only last season, has enough time to deal with the To approach SHL level. On April 29, 2007, the club was able to achieve its first victory against BSV Bern.
