The SG central Switzerland was set up in 2002 syndicate of the two Handball Teams BSV Stans and BSV Lucerne . The aim of this union was to have first-class handball again in Central Switzerland. The ascent was realized after just two years. The SG has produced some remarkable talent.

At the end of the 05/06 season it became known that the club had financial problems and a deficit of around 280,000 Swiss francs. On July 7, 2006, the association had to file for bankruptcy.
