history
In 1972, Kurt Hirsch founded the Carinthian company HIRSCH Porozell GmbH, which specializes in the manufacture of transport protective packaging from EPS. In 1976 the company moved to Glanegg / Carinthia. HIRSCH Porozell gradually developed into the core of a corporate group. Internationalization began in 1985 with the entry into mechanical engineering. In 1989 the company entered the insulation market. After a major fire on September 5, 1990, the company was rebuilt. In 1992 the introduction of the Thermozell lightweight concrete products began.
In 1996 the first Hungarian subsidiary was founded. The following year came the IPO. The entry into the EPS block mold business and into the cutting system market began in 1998 with the acquisition of HIRSCH Wieser GmbH. In 2000 the HIRSCH machine and plant engineering competence center was established. In 2002, two more production sites went into operation in Hungary. Further production facilities followed in Poland, Slovakia and Romania.
In 2014, the HERZ company became the new majority owner of HIRSCH Servo AG. In 2017 the subsidiary HIRSCH Porozell TOV was founded in Ukraine. In the same year, HIRSCH Servo AG was delisted from the Vienna Stock Exchange. In 2018, the company took over three German insulation productions from the French Saint-Gobain Group as well as 66% of the German Synbra subsidiary IsoBouw GmbH with four insulation productions. In 2019, HIRSCH established a competence center for paper fiber casting in Glanegg / Austria. In 2020, the newly founded HIRSCH France SAS, in which HIRSCH Porozell GmbH holds the majority, acquired six EPS insulation production sites in France (previously Placoplatre) and took over 49.9% of the French Isossol SAS with two other plants. The aim is for the HIRSCH Servo Group to become the European market leader in EPS processing.
Today the HIRSCH Servo Group employs around 1500 people in the two business fields of EPS processing and technology.
