Ludwig Raders
Ludwig Raders (born February 19, 1868 in Frankfurt am Main , † May 1, 1899 in Schömberg , Zollernalbkreis ) was a German painter, graphic artist and etcher of Art Nouveau .
After attending the Frankfurt School of Applied Arts, Raders studied from October 28, 1885 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich under Johann Caspar Herterich and Wilhelm von Diez . While still a student he fell ill with tuberculosis.
To get money for life, he copied well-known works of art to order. He rarely found time for his own work. From 1896 he delivered many works to the " youth ".
Because of the progressive illness, he took spa stays in Kochel am See , in February and March 1897 with his grandmother in Bodenheim , then in Bad Soden am Taunus and from October 1897 to spring 1898 in Davos . Ludwig Raders died at the age of 31.
