HMS Apollo
Nine ships of the British Royal Navy were named HMS Apollo after the god Apollo from Greek mythology .
- HMS Apollo (1747) , an armed merchant ship with 20 cannons, captured by the French in 1747 and shipwrecked off Madras in 1749 .
- HMS Apollo (1763) , a fifth class frigate with 32 guns, launched in 1763 as HMS Glory . It was renamed in 1774 and scrapped in 1786.
- HMS Apollo (1794) , a fifth class frigate with 38 cannons, launched in 1794 and run aground off Holland in 1799.
- HMS Apollo (1799) , a fifth class frigate with 36 guns that was launched in 1799 and ran aground off Portugal in 1804.
- HMS Apollo (1805) , a fifth class frigate with 38 guns launched in 1805. It was converted into a troop transport in 1846 and scrapped in 1856.
- HMS Apollo (1891) , an armored deck cruiser of the Apollo class , launched in 1891. It was converted into a mine- layer in 1909 and scrapped in 1920.
- HMS Apollo (1934) , a light cruiser of Leander class , in 1934 was launched. It was handed over to the Royal Australian Navy in 1939 and renamed HMAS Hobart .
- HMS Apollo (M01) was a minelayer of Abdiel class , which in 1943 was launched and was scrapped 1,962th
- HMS Apollo (F70) was a Leander- class frigate that was launched in 1970. It was sold to the Pakistani Navy in 1988 and renamed Zulfiquar .
