HMS Phoebe
Several ships of the British Royal Navy were named HMS Phoebe after Phoebe , a figure in Greek mythology .
- The first HMS Phoebe (1795) was a 36-gun frigate launched in 1795 and sold for scrapping in 1841.
- The second HMS Phoebe (1854) was a ship of the line of the 4th rank with 51 cannons, which was launched in 1854.
- The third HMS Phoebe (1890) was a 2nd class cruiser of the Pearl class , launched in 1890 and sold for scrapping in 1906.
- The fourth HMS Phoebe (1916) , a destroyer of the Admiralty M-class , which has been put into service 1916 in 1921 sold for breaking.
- The fifth HMS Phoebe (43) was a Dido-class light cruiser that was launched in 1939 and sold for scrapping in 1956.
- The sixth HMS Phoebe (F42) was a Leander- class frigate that was launched in 1964, retired in 1991 and sold for scrapping in 1992. HMS Phoebe (F42) was also HMS Hero , a fictional Leander-class frigate that retired from the BBC's popular and acclaimed television drama series Warship during the 1970s.
