HMS Saracen
Six ships of the British Royal Navy have been named HMS Saracen ( English Saracen ):
- The first HMS Saracen was an 18-gun Cruizer-class brig - sloop that was launched in 1804 and scrapped in 1812 .
- The second HMS Saracen , another Cruizer class brig sloop, was launched in 1812 and was sold in 1819.
- The third HMS Saracen was a 10-gun brig sloop of the Cherokee class , launched in 1831, used as a survey ship from 1854 and traded in in 1862 for the ship that was to be called the HMS Saracen next .
- The fourth HMS Saracen initially carried the name Young Queen , was acquired as a surveying brig in 1862 and sold again in 1870.
- The fifth HMS Saracen was a destroyer of the Tribal-class destroyer . The ship was launched in 1908 and sold for scrapping in 1919.
- The sixth HMS Saracen was an S-class submarine . It was launched in 1942 and was lost in the Mediterranean in 1943.
