HNK Suhopolje is a Croatian football club from the village of Suhopolje .

history

The Olimpija Suhopolje football club was founded in Suhopolje in 1912 . Football was played under this name until 1916. Football was dormant in the city until 1923 before a new club was founded under the name Tomislav Suhopolje . During the Second World War, football became increasingly difficult and the decision was made to rest again from 1942 to 1948. In the third attempt, the association was christened NK Mladost Suhopolje . In 1958 there is a merger with SD Partizan Suhopolje . Until 1991 they played under the name Partizan . During the war in Croatia they tried to keep the game going. In 1991 the old name Mladost was taken up again, the main sponsor at the time was added. After only one year under the name PIK Mladost , the local 127th Brigade was given the honor of being mentioned in the club name. So from 1992 they called themselves NK Mladost 127. Suhopolje .

It was under this name that one had the greatest successes. After all, they played in the first Croatian league ( 1. HNL ) for three years .

In 2001 it changed its name for the last time, since then it has been called HNK Suhopolje ( Croatian Football Club Suhopolje ).

In the 2007/08 season they again made it to the second Croatian league.
