HNSKY or Hello Northern Sky is a freely available 2D astronomy program for Windows and Linux to simulate the night sky, which has been developed by the Dutchman Han Kleijn since the beginning of 1998.

The current basic version of HNSKY includes a star database of 4.5 million stars (TYCHO2 ++) and 30,000 deep sky objects up to magnitude  12.5. It simulates the starry sky from 1750 to 2250. In addition, it can be expanded online with a plug-in on the manufacturer's website up to magnitude 15 ( GSC ) or 16 ( USNO UCAC catalog ), or with additional databases and your own property data become. Planetary positions can be determined with an additional program for the period of 13,000 BC. BC to 16,999 AD.

The program supports the telescope controls ASCOM and Goto .
