The HSBC Guyerzeller Bank AG was a traditional Swiss private bank with headquarters in Zurich and a subsidiary of the British bank HSBC . She specialized in asset management and mainly addressed wealthy private clients.

The bank recently employed around 360 people and had branches in Zurich, Geneva, Istanbul and Hong Kong. At the end of 2007, assets under management amounted to CHF 29 billion.

The history of the Guyerzeller Bank began in the late 19th century, when the engineer and Swiss railway pioneer Adolf Guyer-Zeller tackled an ambitious project with the construction of a railway line to the summit of the Jungfrau, and founded the Guyer-Zeller Bank in 1894 to finance it . Today a world-famous rack railway leads to the Jungfraujoch, known as the "Top of Europe" .

In 1959, the bank merged with Zurmont Bank, the Swiss subsidiary of the London merchant bank Samuel Montagu & Co. At a later date, the acquisition by Midland Bank took place, where it became the main shareholder. In 1992, the main shareholder, Midland Bank, was taken over by HSBC Holdings Plc. Guyerzeller Bank AG thus became a member of the HSBC Group.

The bank was renamed HSBC Guyerzeller Bank AG in 1999, but remained operationally independent even after the reorganization of HSBC's other Swiss private banking activities in 2001. In March 2008 it was decided to integrate HSBC Guyerzeller Bank AG into HSBC Private Bank (Suisse) SA . HSBC Guyerzeller Bank was dissolved on March 31, 2009, the banking license was returned and the activities were taken over by HSBC Private Bank (Suisse).
