HSL-Oost

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hogesnelheidslijn Oost (short: HSL-Oost , German: high-speed route east ) is the name of a formerly planned high-speed route from Amsterdam to Germany . The line should run through Utrecht and Arnhem .

The route should be used by ICE-International . At the moment the ICE on the route Frankfurt am Main - Cologne - Amsterdam is traveling on the Rhijnspoorweg , which leads from Arnhem via Utrecht to Amsterdam, but a maximum speed of 140 km / h is possible on the route. On the new route, which should run almost parallel to the current route, speeds of 250 km / h would have been possible.

The plans now envisage expanding the old route so that it can be driven at up to 200 km / h.
