In 1999 HUK-Coburg started selling motor vehicle insurance online. Due to the rapid development of direct and online business, HUK24 was founded as a stock corporation on October 10, 2000 and has been continuously expanded to this day. It operates exclusively online and does not offer advice over the phone. According to its own information, it is Germany's largest digital direct insurer for private households.
