Haşema

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Haşema Tekstil fall. Spor Malzeme ve Ambalaj San. Tic. Ltd. Şti. (also short for Haşema for Turkish Ha kiki Şe riat Ma yosu; dt. Haschema, meaning “true Sharia swimwear”), is an Istanbul- based company and market leader in Turkey for sportswear that meets Islamic regulations.

swimsuit

The company is famous for its synthetic (nylon) full body swimsuit for devout Muslim women. The suit, also known as hashema, usually consists of four parts: trousers, a jacket, a swimming cap and a hood ( hijab ) that can be closed under the chin. The suit thus covers the " Aurah ", the Muslim pubic area, i.e. H. for women, the entire body except for the face, hands and feet.

Companies

The Haschema was invented by the Turkish textile entrepreneur Mehmet Şahin and has been sold by his clothing company Haşema-Tekstil since 1993. As a law student, Şahin founded the company in 1989 and initially only sold men's swimwear that met his own pious needs and covered the parts of the body between the navel and knee (“aurah” for men). Haşema claims to have sold 25,000 hashema in 2005, and 40,000 according to other sources.

After China and Hong Kong, Turkey is the third largest exporter of underwear (including lingerie ) with an eight percent share of the world market (2004, USD 4 billion, almost one million employees ). However, most of the underwear made in Turkey is sold under foreign brand names, so there are only two major internationally known Turkish brand names. The Zeki Triko company produces underwear and swimwear, while Haşema has made a name for itself especially among devout Muslims around the world.
