Haakon Stein (born January 16, 1940 in Koblenz ) is a former German sword fencer . He became German champion and took part in the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo . His fencing club was the TuS Rei Koblenz .

Stein became German champion in epee fencing in 1960 . 1963 and 1964 he won the White Bear , the biggest international tournament in Germany. In 1964 he was a member of the men's epee team at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Together with Franz Rompza , Max Geuter , Volkmar Würtz and Paul Gnaier , he took sixth place.
