Habsburg high! is a march by Johann Strauss Sohn (op. 408). The work was performed for the first time on December 27, 1882 in the Carltheater in Vienna.

Remarks

The march was created against the backdrop of the 600th anniversary of the House of Habsburg . On this occasion, a Habsburg celebration took place in the Carltheater on December 27, 1882, at which Johann Strauss presented his new march together with a military band. However, it turned out that the march wasn't all that new. It was a compilation of motifs from the Austrian imperial anthem by Joseph Haydn , the Prince Eugene March and the Radetzky March by his father . The work was a tribute to the Habsburgs, which included the imperial family. Despite the cited pieces of music, the work did not last long and was later somewhat forgotten.

The playing time on the CD listed under individual records is 3 minutes and 8 seconds. This time can vary somewhat depending on the conductor's musical conception.
