Lists on the subject

The Haenel model 312 or championship air rifle 312 is a sport air rifle from the VEB vehicle and hunting weapons factory "Ernst Thälmann" (FAJAS) from Suhl. After 1989 production was continued by Jagd- und Sportwaffen Suhl GmbH as Haenel 600 . The model 312 was colloquially called side tensioner and was the standard match air rifle for sport shooters in popular sport up to club level (below international championships) for GDR sport shooters.

development

The model 312 was developed in Suhl as a championship air rifle. In 1966 the GDR national team started with prototypes of this new model at the World Cup in Wiesbaden. Originally the Soviet national team was also supposed to be equipped, but not enough copies could be made available on time.

The model 312 has been continuously improved in details over the production period, while the description has changed due to the further development in international air rifle construction from "championship air rifle" via "high-performance air rifle" and "target air rifle" to "side-tensioning air rifle" and thus reflecting the increasing technical gap between the rifle, which has remained unchanged in its basic features, and top international match air rifles.

description

Schönebecker standard diabolos 4.5 mm

The model 312 is a mainspring compressor air rifle. The barrel is rigidly connected to the system case, it is cocked with a side cocking lever on the right side of the weapon. After unlocking, the lever is pulled 90 ° to the right, the striker spring is tensioned and the locking sleeve releases the diabolo bearing . A ratchet mechanism prevents the clamping lever from snapping back, which can only be closed again by hand after it has reached its end position. It is not possible to cancel the cocking process and to close the weapon, the trigger is blocked while cocking.

The rifle has an adjustable match trigger and no manual safety. It is vibration-reduced, a rubber buffer and spring-damped sleeve above the barrel attachment acts as a rebound shock absorber, which the compression sleeve hits when the shot is fired.

A fully adjustable visor serves as rear sight with interchangeable pinhole and -kornen. The rear sight is pushed onto the 9 mm prism rail and clamped with two half shafts. The prism rail corresponds in form and function to modern mounting systems such as the Picatinny or NATO rail . It is 100 mm long and has two segments with nine semicircular grooves each .

The competition stock is made of beech and has a Monte Carlo cheek. The pistol grip and the thumb rest are hallmarked. The shaft length can be adjusted using intermediate plates between the shaft and the butt plate; the height of the butt plate can be continuously adjusted.

The model 312 is optimized for the standard pellets with a 4.53 mm head diameter and shoots the best groups with them. In the best case, match diabolos achieve the same scattering circles, but, depending on the manufacturer, can also be significantly worse. The muzzle velocity of a 0.53 g pellet is about 173 m / s, with a 0.47 g pellet it increases to 183 m / s. The factory specification is 160 m / s.

The weapons are marked with the Haenel arrow, the Suhl weapon smith, the model designation, the serial number and made in GDR and caliber 4.5 mm.

variants

The standard version is the 312-1 model (internal: 3.121). Model 312-1.2 was manufactured for the running target discipline , which differs from model 312-1 by a different front sight holder with double front sight and a raised, non-adjustable cheek piece.

After 1989/90 the model 312 was offered as the Haenel 600 side-cocking air rifle . This variant was also available with a caliber of 5.5 mm, optionally with a fully adjustable telescopic sight or telescopic sight. The shaft was made of walnut.

In the years 1973-75 the prototype 3.122 was developed on the basis of the model 3.121, which had a receding spring system, which almost completely absorbed the impact. This model was not produced in series because the technically superior MLG 550 championship air rifle with an air storage system was already in development.

Legal position

Although the Haenel 312 has about 8 joules more than the 7.5 joule muzzle energy permitted under current German law , the weapons can nevertheless be freely acquired and owned if they were already in the territory of the former GDR before April 2, 1991 were manufactured and put on the market.
