The Mathildenstrasse prison was a prison belonging to the Dresden Regional Court ( Dresdner prison II ), which was directly connected to the Pillnitzer Strasse regional court building. The prison in Dresden was on Pillnitzer Strasse, and the entrance was on Mathildenstrasse. From 1933 to 1945, German and Czechoslovak anti-fascists were held prisoner and tortured here, including the worker functionaries Arthur Weineck and Otto Galle . In 1933/34 it was a stopover for prisoners who were deported from there to the Hohnstein concentration camp. During the air raids on Dresden in February 1945, the courthouse with the detention center was destroyed.

The prison was popularly known as "Mathildenschlößchen" or "Mathilde".

A memorial stele by Johannes Peschel has been a reminder of the prison since 1975 . It stands at the former location of the detention center, although in August 2009 it was relocated from Pillnitzer Strasse, at the corner of Richtstrasse, to the confluence of Rietschelstrasse and Pillnitzer Strasse, due to construction work. The memorial consists of a triangular sandstone stele with concrete tape panels.
