Theoretically, this special right retained its validity even while it belonged to the Grand Duchy of Hesse in the 19th century, but only individual provisions were used in judicial practice. The particular law was replaced on January 1, 1900 by the civil code that was uniformly valid throughout the German Empire .
On December 31, 1971, the municipality of Nieder-Moos was incorporated into the municipality of Freiensteinau as part of the regional reform in Hesse .

Culture and sights
music
In the Evangelical Church of Nieder-Moos there is a historical organ from the years 1790 and 1791. It was built by Johann-Markus Oestreich from Ober-Bimbach near Fulda and is considered the most important Hessian monument organ from the classicism period . The instrument has 23 registers on two manuals and a pedal. The unusually wide prospectus is designed in 15 parts and decorated with decorations ranging from the late Rococo to the plait style . The pipework is almost unchanged and the technical system has been completely preserved in the original. In 1978 the Förster & Nicolaus company carried out a restoration. The organ plays a central role in the Nieder-Moos summer concerts .
Sports
The SV Nieder-Moos football club plays with its first team in the Fulda Süd regional league. In the 2008/09 season, the SVN was promoted from the A-League to the regional league by relegation. The then player-coach and former Bundesliga professional Steffen Herzberger played a major role in this success . The reserve plays its games in the C-League Schlüchtern West.
