Riedesel's ordinances

The Riedesel'schen ordinances were a particular law valid until 1900 in the rule of the barons of Riedesel , who belonged to the Grand Duchy of Hesse in the 19th century .

The Riedesel'schen ordinances consisted of a series of ordinances of the Lords of Riedesel from the 18th century. Over time, however, they became increasingly obsolete, so that at the end of the 19th century only the ordinance of September 11, 1769 was applied in judicial practice in the Grand Duchy .

The Riedesel ordinances consist of at least the following ordinances:

Validity

The Riedesel'schen ordinances were valid in the former imperial area of ​​the rule of the barons of Riedesel. If the ordinances did not regulate a situation, subsidiary common law applied . The Riedesel'schen ordinances retained their validity during the affiliation to the Grand Duchy of Hesse in the 19th century, until it was replaced on January 1, 1900 by the Civil Code, which was uniformly valid throughout the German Empire , even if it was only very limited in practice were applied.
