Hagen Chandler

Hagen Krämer (* 1963 ) is a German economist . Since 1999 he has been Professor of Economics at the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences - Technology and Economics .

Life

From 1983 to 1989 he studied economics at the University of Bremen and the New School for Social Research in New York. In 1995 he was awarded a Dr. rer. pole. PhD . He then worked as a specialist librarian for international business cycle analyzes in the economics department of Daimler-Benz AG . From 1997 to 1999 he headed the Corporate Issues department at Daimler-Benz InterServices AG and DaimlerChrysler Services AG in Berlin. In 2003, Krämer was a founding member of the Keynes Society . Between the 2004/2005 winter semester and the 2014/2015 winter semester, he completed various research stays as a visiting scientist at the German Institute for Economic Research , the Institute for Macroeconomics and Business Cycle Research (IMK) , at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research and at the Karl-Franzens- University of Graz . In the 2018/2019 winter semester, he was also visiting professor at the New School for Social Research in New York. He is a member of the Committee for the History of Economics and the Economic Policy Committee of the Verein für Socialpolitik.

Hagen Krämer's research focuses on the theory and empiricism of income and wealth distribution, service economics and digitization as well as the history of economic thought. He is co-author of numerous monographs as well as publications in scientific journals and edited volumes. In his book Saving and Investing in the 21st Century , published in 2019 , which he wrote together with Carl Christian von Weizsäcker , Hagen Krämer deals with the role of the state in times of increasing propensity to save and declining propensity to invest.
