Hagen Wend

Hagen Wend (born August 26, 1943 in Herzogswalde (Saxony) ) is a German clergyman of the New Apostolic Church . From December 1995 to January 2009 he was District Apostle in Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, Belgium, Luxembourg and some mission countries in Africa.

Life

Hagen Wend was born in Herzogswalde near Dresden . In 1949 his parents moved to West Germany with their three children. Here his mother attended services of the New Apostolic Church. At the age of nine, Hagen Wend was sealed together with his mother and two brothers and thus became a member of the New Apostolic Church.

After graduating from school, he studied law and business administration and worked as a lawyer at Dresdner Bank for almost 17 years .

On January 1, 1990, he became managing director of the Friedrich Bischoff publishing house and printer , which are owned by the New Apostolic Church.

On September 23, 1990, Chief Apostle Richard Fehr ordained him as an apostle for South Hesse (within the District Church of Hesse / Rhineland-Palatinate / Saarland) as well as the countries of Belgium, Luxembourg and Greece. Before he was u. a. Head of the Frankfurt- Eschersheim congregation , later also district head of Frankfurt am Main and from 1989 to 1990 bishop.

In 1995 Chief Apostle Richard Fehr began a partial reorganization of German District Churches. District Apostle Klaus Saur , who has been in charge of the District Church of Hesse / Rhineland-Palatinate / Saarland to date , became District Apostle for Bavaria and the whole of Baden-Württemberg (previously only Baden) - since January 1, 2002, these areas have formed the District Church of Southern Germany - and Apostle Hagen Wend received the District Apostle ministry for the New Apostolic Church Hesse / Rhineland-Palatinate / Saarland .

On January 11, 2009, Hagen Wend was retired by Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber in a divine service in the Congress Center of Messe Frankfurt. The previous Apostle Bernd Koberstein was ordained as his successor as District Apostle and Church President of the New Apostolic Church of Hesse / Rhineland-Palatinate / Saarland .
