Hair-rig

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The hair rig , also known as the hair rig , is a special kind of bait presentation for carp fishing .

A short piece of string is tied to the shank of the hook using a common hook and leader system (hair used to be used for this, hence the name hair assembly). The bait ( corn , boilies , pellets) can then be pulled over this hair . It is held in place by a so-called boilie stopper, which is led behind it through a tied loop on the hair .

This type of bait presentation is particularly useful for shy carp , as the hook is a good 2–3 cm behind the bait and the fish does not feel anything unusual when it is picked up. But if he takes notice of the line or the hook, he spits out the bait and the hook behind it gets caught in the mouth and the fish is hooked.
