Haji Yakub Mosque

Haji Yakoub Mosque (Great Mosque of Dushanbe)

The Haji Yakub Mosque (tj. Маcҷиди Ҳоҷӣ Яъқуб, English Haji Yakoub Mosque / Hoji Yakub Mosque / etc.) is the central mosque of the capital of Tajikistan , the city of Dushanbe . It was named after Haji Yakub , a Tajik religious leader who fled to Afghanistan.

The mosque was founded 200 years ago and can hold up to 3000 people. Attached to it is a madrasa .
