Murat Hakan Uzan (* 1967 in Adapazarı , Turkey ) is a volatile and prominent former Turkish businessman. Hakan Uzan is a member of the very wealthy Uzan entrepreneurial dynasty. Before his flight and the confiscation of his property, Hakan Uzan u. a. to manage the music channel Kral TV , the media empire Star Medya Grubu , the telecommunications service provider Telsim and the financial institutions Türkiye İmar Bankası and Adabank , all of which were family-owned. Private life

In the 1990s, Hakan Uzan was a patron of the Adanaspor association . Hakan Uzan's first marriage was to the singer and actress Yeşim Salkım since 1998 . The divorce took place in 2001. In 2002 Hakan Uzan married the television presenter Özlem Kızılkaya. The marriage produced a son.

Escape

After a fraudulent bankruptcy of the family's İmar Bankası, the Turkish deposit insurance fund Tasarruf Mevduatı Sigorta Fonu confiscated the family assets. Arrest warrants have been issued against Hakan Uzan and his father. Both escaped arrest in 2003 by escaping from the roof of their family home by helicopter. Hakan then fled to Jordan, whose King Abdullah was his former schoolmate. Hakan Uzan lived in Jordan under the name Murad al-Umari until at least 2013. Uzan, who weighed 150 kg before he fled, is said to have reduced his weight to 75 kg during the time of his escape.
