The Hala Sportowo-Widowiskowa Gdynia ( German  sports and event hall Gdynia ) is a multi-purpose hall in the northern Polish city ​​of Gdynia , Pomeranian Voivodeship . The main users are the men's team of the Asseco Prokom Gdynia basketball club ( Polish Basketball League ) and the Lotos Gdynia women's team ( Polish Women's Basketball League ) as well as the Łączpol Gdynia women's handball team ( Polish Women's Handball League ). history

Construction of the hall began in mid-2004 and the foundation stone was laid on July 23 of that year. Completion was planned for the turn of the year 2005/06. After defects (errors in the calculation of the structural analysis and possible risk of collapse) in the planning, construction was interrupted and continued in April 2008. At the end of the year on December 22nd, the arena was officially opened. The initially estimated construction costs of 45 million zlotys almost doubled to 86 million zlotys. The venue is largely surrounded by a green wall. A strip of glass elements stretches across the roof; he lets daylight into the hall. In the hall are u. a. The first sporting event in the new building was a basketball game of the Euroleague Women between Lotos Gdynia and Fenerbahçe Istanbul on January 30, 2009.
