Halcali

Halcali is a Japanese hip hop duo. The name of the group arose from the composition of the first names of the two members, who call themselves Halca and Yucali on the stage.

Halca was born as Haruka on April 21, 1988 and Yucali as Yukari on July 18, 1987.

Career

The duo was formed when Rip Slyme selected the two in talent competitions that took place at Meguro and formed a new group from them. Her debut album, Halcali Bacon, featured songs with Japanese pop singers as guest singers and did not sell particularly well.

In contrast to this, her second album Ongaku no Susume (German music recommendation ) is musically more versatile. It's a mix of poppy melodies, hip-hop beats, singing and rap . Despite everything, there was criticism that Halcali's albums were produced with purely commercial intentions and only try to win buyers, which all groups who are cast in a certain way are gladly accused. Halcalimix, released in spring 2005, is a collection of remixes of Halcali songs.

Halcalism

Halcalism is a made-up word that Halcali uses in her songs. For example, Candy Hearts is a halcalism that relates to rendezvous and dieting.
